Sarah’s parents told her she could have any vehicle she wanted, as long as she paid for it. She worked after school, saved her money and bought a 1977 Ford on eBay from California in 2015.

The story
It arrived without rust, but with plenty of dents and a need for an engine and paint. Sarah and her dad spent a little more than two winters bringing it back. She finally drove it to senior prom.
One moment during the build still stands out. They planned to reinstall the bed on a Saturday, but Sarah was called into work early. She got dressed for work and went to help, unaware her dad and a friend had already fitted it the night before.
When she walked into the barn and saw the bed back on the frame, she cried happy tears. It was a simple gesture that meant the truck was becoming a truck again.
The memories kept coming. By her October 2025 submission, she had also completed the Power Tour as a Long Hauler.

The truck
Sarah keeps the Ford close to original, with a Bluetooth stereo, AutoMeter InVision dash and a four-barrel carburetor replacing the two-barrel.

What comes next
Her plan is to keep driving and making memories.
