Body By Highboy: What year’s your truck?
Van (@that_red_flatbed_79): 1979.
Body By Highboy: How long have you owned it?
Van: 4 years.
Body By Highboy: What kind of truck were you hoping to find when you bought it?
Van: I wanted an old truck I could restore into a daily driver — something I could still take out in the mud and use as a work truck.
Body By Highboy: Every rig has that one memory. What’s yours?
Van: Taking it out in the snow and drifting around with my buddies. That was a blast.
Body By Highboy: What upgrades have you made so far?
Van: New engine, transmission, transfer case, new wheels and tires, LED lights, added the flatbed, and mounted toolboxes.
Body By Highboy: What’s next for the ’79?
Van: I want to cam it, put on a cold air intake, and add wig-wag flashers and flood lights on the headache rack.
Body By Highboy: Anything else you’d like to share?
Van: When I first got it, the truck wasn’t even running — the bell housing on the transmission was cracked, and it was super rusty. With my dad’s help, we restored it and turned it into the pretty pickup it is now.
