Timmy’s dad bought this 1977 Ford in 1984 from the original owner across the street. It began as a white truck, then his dad painted it candy-apple red. In 1989, he sold it to a family friend.

The story
Timmy never forgot where it went. He bought the truck back in 2002. When his dad and two brothers went with him to see it, they walked through a foot of snow to reach the old family Ford.
His dad’s first check was the glovebox. The custom paint was still there. Timmy remembers their eyes lighting up as they recognized the truck from childhood.
He and his dad rebuilt it while he was in high school. It earned the nickname Big Red, and he drove it until parking it in 2007.

The truck
There have been several engine changes. The most recent was a 7.3 Power Stroke with a ZF five-speed, begun in September 2024 and finished in September 2025. Timmy got it to a few shows, polishing paint that was already more than 20 years old.

What comes next
Bodywork and rust repair are next, followed by Ford Race Red paint. He hopes his dad will paint it one more time. Big Red is a family heirloom Timmy plans to pass to his kids.
