Luke wanted a Highboy, and his 1972 Ford was given to him. By his September 2025 submission, he had owned it for three years.

The story
The experience he chose to share was fabrication work with his father. The list of repairs shows how much attention they have given the truck beneath its weathered appearance.
Luke says the fender’s rusty-looking finish is preserved patina over completed repairs, not an untreated rust problem.

The truck
The work includes brakes, hubs, axles, lines, clutch, drivetrain seals, U-joints, cab mounts, floor pans and cooling, electrical and fuel systems.
Inside, he has addressed insulation, carpet, dash, headliner, visors and cab seals. Trim, grille work and a repainted tailgate are also on the completed list.

What comes next
A frame-off restoration is the eventual goal. For now, Luke’s Ford carries the look he wanted and the work he and his father have put into it.
