Jordan wanted a Highboy with a solid starting point. By September 2025, he had owned his 1977 Ford for two years and swapped in a 7.3 Power Stroke and ZF five-speed.

The story
He was so eager to drive after the swap that he put off other checks. A weekend trip with his wife to the family cottage covered about 500 kilometers round trip.
It made it home, but the inspection afterward was sobering. Jordan found leaking power-assist steering, worn joints and tie rods, water and rust in the front wheel bearings, and more than two inches of toe-in from a bent tie-rod bar.
He still wonders how the truck finished the journey without obvious noise or vibration. The trip became a reminder that a finished engine swap does not mean the rest of an old truck is ready.

The truck
His current upgrades include fuel and wiring changes for the Power Stroke, hydroboost, a Benchworks steering conversion, a custom tie-rod bar, rebuilt axles and new driveshafts and yokes.
The interior has new carpet, a custom headliner, a reupholstered bench, a RetroSound radio and Pioneer speakers. A two-inch Skyjacker lift and white steel wheels with STA Superlugs keep the old Ford look.

What comes next
Jordan wants a new dash pad, engine intercooling and further fuel and tuning work. A better bed, matching paint and a Snow Fighter Dana 60 front axle are also on his wish list.
