Egidio had wanted an old long-bed F-250 or F-350 by 27. Kassie, his 1976 F-250, came home much earlier, on March 16, 2022, when he was 19. It became both a truck he loved and a place to learn.

Before Kassie, his mechanical work had largely been oil changes and brakes. Cooling leaks, brake work and ignition failures widened that experience. A woman he had met two years earlier reconnected with him during a summer at the lake. He let her drive, remembering her happy smile and his worry about what would happen if she pushed the pedal down.

The work and the years behind it
Brakes, carburetion, ignition, cooling and audio work were on the completed list. He was considering a 565 stroker or diesel, leaning toward a 460 build with a five-speed replacing the C6. Fuel economy was not his priority. As a photographer, he was also looking for other old trucks to photograph.

How the truck came home
I was just originally looking for any 73-79 f250/350 long bed!
The memories behind the truck
There's been plenty of memories that I will never forget in her but by far the best one was early in the summer. I met this beautiful woman 2 years ago when I was home from college and life ended up getting in the way of things. She loves old fords just aswell and never had been in a dentside. Fast foward to the beginning of the summer and we reconnected for a bit. I took her out to a lake near my house and as we were going to leave I made her drive. Looking over to see her smile and the excitement in her face driving Kass was by far the best memory so far with hopefully many more to come! (she later told me she was worried to break anything when I was telling her to put the pedal down all the way). When we first met I told her by 27 I would own a dent and well she came home at 19.
Build details, in the owner’s words
So far I've swapped the rear from drums to discs, replaced every component in the braking system including the lines, brand new holley 750 carb, new radiator, brand new stereo and added speakers, msd 6al ignition, and just in this week brand new cam, lifters, weiland stealth intake, straight up timing set, and valve springs.
Plans at the time of the story
I'm torn between a 565 stroker kit or a diesel swap of some sort but as I'm young and dont need the reliability and better mpg of a diesel right now I'm leaning towards the 460 build and some sort of 5speed swap to replace the c6!
More from the owner
Theres been so many stories I can go on forever, everyone called me crazy for buying her but its all been smiles the entire way. Through the coolant leaks, the losing brakes, the ignition system giving out. I've learned a ton and am thankful for all I have learned. Before this the most I've done is brakes and oil changes. Kassies a hell of an old tank and my favorite vehicle I've owned! I'm also a photographer always looking to take pics of these old girls.
